The décor of your office says a lot about your business, just like the appearance of a person says a lot about him or her. When interviewing a candidate for a job would you hire someone who looks disheveled and is not dressed appropriately? I didn’t think so. Then why would a client hire your services if your office looks decrepit. How the office looks from outside and inside impacts how your clients perceive your business and how much business you get from them. I have come across several clients who decided against hiring a lawyer or an accountant after they visited their office that looked awful. So how can you improve the office décor, and in turn your business?
There are two aspects of the office décor that you need to pay attention to – inside and outside.
Outside Décor
The outside of your office builds the first impression in client’s mind. If it doesn’t look appealing they will immediately form the opinion about the state of your business thinking you can’t even afford to spend to take care of the building. You need to keep proper maintenance of the walls, roof and all other external sides of the building. That is the minimum you can do. In addition, you should pay attention to landscape and plant colorful plants and flowers with attractive smell that attracts not only bees, but clients as well!
The business sign is another important aspect you need to pay careful attention to. Not only should the sign be clearly visible from distance, but also the lettering and the logo should be chosen so that it matches with the image of your business. Don’t be afraid to spend some money on building a sign that catches attention of passersby and generates buzz in the community.
Inside Décor
Once you have managed to attract the client inside your building your job doesn’t stop there. You need to continue to create an atmosphere inside the building as well that will feel them welcome and make them spend time with you in the office. As we all know if you can keep the client sitting in the office longer you improve the chances of signing a contract with them.
The furniture you use says a lot about how much you value the clients. The chairs should be comfortable for anyone even if they sit for hours on it. Putting mahogany table and desk significantly improves the appearance of the office. Another important aspect of decoration is the carpet and rugs you put. Laying out rugs such as beautifully crafted Pak Persian Rugs will make your office stand out in eyes of clients.
In addition to furniture, you should also look into purchasing attractive paintings and put them on the walls of the office as well as hallway. It is amazing how the office appearance can change simply by putting few paintings on the walls.
As you can see the state of your office is synonymous to the state your business, at least in the eyes of clients. Taking good care of the office can help you improve and grow your business. If you have any other suggestions about office décor feel free to share in the comments below.
